Summer is here and the kids are out of school
and you are now the director of fun. Well, what do
you have planned? I have a few ideas that will not
only be fun for the kids and you but will make
some valuable summer memories. Here is a list
of things you will need. 1) Video Camera 2) photo
camera (digital or film) 3) Kids favorite music
Do you have everything? Lets get started! The first thing that you may want to
do is find out what your kids favorite song or songs are. Get a copy of the lyrics
off the Internet or the Cd jacket. Read through the lyrics and listen to the song
and imagine a music video staring your kids in your mind. Here is an example of
a song by Hannah Montana called "Nobody's Perfect".
[ Chorus: ]
Nobody's Perfect!
I gotta work it!
Again and again 'til
I get it right
Nobody's Perfect!
You live and you learn it!
And if I mess it up sometimes... (Hey)
Nobody's perfect
This is just the chorus of the song but I can see my youngest daughter who is in
her first year of softball standing at home plate swinging and missing the ball
and then finally getting a hit. By the way that is a picture her on the right. Now
that we have our song we take our video camera and capture the action. Sports
are great to take video of and you can get some really great bloopers and some
great plays. While you are filming snap some pictures as well. Now we are
going to take pictures and videos of our kids in all types of moments from
bicycle riding, swimming pool dives, playing with toys, and camping. Once we
have the whole summer compiled in video and pictures then the editing fun
begins. On all of our computers you have pre-installed video editing software
either called Windows Movie Maker for PC or iMovie for Mac. You can make a
music video with your pictures and video that you have collected and set it to
the music that your kids have chosen as their favorite.
I know what you are saying now...OK Chad, you had a great idea going but now
you went all technical on me and I am lost on making the video. Well I can help
you! If you would like to take a personal class from me you can or you can have
me make the video for you. I believe once you get started with this project you
will be very excited and will want to accomplish it. This will make a great gift for
Grandparents and a great keepsake for the kids! All that is left to say
is...Lights...Camera...Action!
